Psychotherapy-Informed Mentoring
This intensive 4-week 1:1 mentorship is designed for personal trainers, coaches, and health and performance practitioners who work closely with clients.
Technical knowledge is only one part of effective coaching. Building trust, recognising when a client may need additional support, and communicating with confidence are equally important. Many practitioners encounter clients experiencing challenges related to disordered eating, body image, trauma, or poor mental health, yet often feel uncertain about how to respond while remaining within their professional scope of practice.
Throughout this mentorship, you'll develop practical communication skills, gain a clear understanding of professional boundaries and referral pathways, and learn evidence-informed strategies to better support your clients without stepping beyond your role.
By the end of the four weeks, you'll leave with practical tools, greater confidence, and an immediately applicable framework that will enhance your client interactions and strengthen your coaching practice.
Why I Created This Mentorship
My background is somewhat unique. Alongside my work as a qualified psychotherapist, I am also a qualified personal trainer and sports nutrition practitioner. Over the past decade, I've worked across the health, fitness, and performance industry with coaches, athletes, and industry-leading professionals, giving me a deep understanding of the realities of coaching and client care.
Today, my work is primarily centred around psychotherapy, where I regularly support individuals navigating complex emotional and psychological challenges. This experience has highlighted an important gap within the fitness industry: many coaches find themselves supporting clients through issues that extend far beyond training and nutrition, yet receive very little guidance on how to navigate these conversations safely and confidently.
This mentorship was created to bridge that gap.
Rather than teaching you to become a therapist, the aim is to help you become a more confident, reflective, and psychologically informed practitioner—someone who understands their role, communicates effectively, recognises when additional support is needed, and maintains healthy professional boundaries.
What you'll gain:
-
A psychotherapy-informed mentoring experience designed specifically for personal trainers, coaches, and fitness professionals.
-
A confidential, non-judgemental space to discuss client situations, professional challenges, and your own development as a practitioner.
-
Greater confidence in navigating conversations around body image, disordered eating, trauma, motivation, and mental wellbeing while remaining within your scope of practice.
-
Practical guidance on setting professional boundaries and understanding when and how to refer clients to appropriate services.
-
Support in managing coach burnout, compassion fatigue, and the emotional demands of working closely with people.
-
Increased self-awareness and reflective practice to enhance your effectiveness as a coach.
-
Opportunities to explore challenging client dynamics, ethical dilemmas, and communication strategies.
-
Evidence-informed, psychologically grounded tools that can be applied immediately within your coaching practice.
-
Mentoring led by a qualified psychotherapist with extensive experience in the health, fitness, and performance sector, focused on professional development rather than psychotherapy (unless psychotherapy has been specifically contracted).
